The Foodservice Cluster leads a mission with 15 companies from its ecosystem to explore the future of food in Denmark and Sweden

Barcelona, April 1, 2025 - At the end of March, the Foodservice Cluster led an International Mission to Denmark and Sweden, accompanied by 15 companies from its ecosystem: BonArea, Carns Romeu, Alimmenta, Gau Càtering, Assolim, Cafès Cornellà, Frit Ravich, Barry Callebaut, Fundació Alícia, Ametller Origen, Ecoveritas, Puratos, Maser Grup, and Central Borne, with the support and presence of ACCIÓ.
This three-day mission allowed participants to gain firsthand insight into the latest trends in innovation, sustainability, and technology in the Danish food sector, establishing valuable international connections that will pave the way for a more sustainable and innovative future.

Innovation and sustainability at the heart of the mission

The mission began in Copenhagen, where the participating companies visited Food Nation Denmark, a global leader in sustainability and food quality. In addition, they got to know Tempty Foods, a pioneering company in plant-based protein production, and the Teknologisk Institut, a research and technological innovation center applied to the food sector.

In Malmö, a key hub for the Swedish food industry, they visited outstanding initiatives such as the restaurant Spill, an example of sustainable gastronomy combating food waste, and Oatly, a pioneer in oat milk.
They also held meetings with leading innovation entities such as Livsmedelsakademin, Krinova Incubator & Science Park, Invest in Skåne, SmiLe Venture Hub, and Foodtech Innovation Network.

The closing day included a visit to København Madservice, a model of efficiency and quality in collective catering, and Delitaste, a reference company in gourmet products for the foodservice sector.

A boost for sector innovation

This International Mission has been an enriching experience for all participating companies, providing key insights for transforming the foodservice industry towards more sustainable and innovative models. Participants had the opportunity to explore new business opportunities and establish strategic international collaborations.

This mission strengthens the Foodservice Cluster's commitment to fostering collaboration, innovation, and sustainability in the food sector, working together for a more innovative and sustainable future.
